Find out about the winner of Student Group Of The Month and many of the amazing things our societies have been getting up to!
It's time to reveal October's Student Group of the Month! But before we reveal who our top choice was, we wanted to remind you all that you can tell us about all of the cool things your group has been doing this year by filling out a Proud to Shout About It submission.
Student Group of the Month for October 2026 is...
Five Nights At Freddy's Society!
FNAF Society hit the ground running with their events this term!
They grouped together with other student groups for the society picnic, represented their group at the welcome fair, and had a smashing give it a go period. But the most impressive feat by far has to be their Fortnitemares collaboration with Sonic society.
These two student groups engaged in a riveting tournament that featured all the new spooky content recently released for this year's Halloween drop. Members looted up aside 1-3 other players sporting Sonic or FNAF skins in a battle for first place, gradually progressing through the ranks until the Fortnitemares winner was crowned victorious.
No wonder Five Nights at Freddy's Society has their membership target already - which is no mean feat for a newly established group!
A round of applause to our winners!
Additionally, we'd like to draw attention to a few other student groups that shined particularly bright this month!
LGBTQ+ Society
The LGBTQ+ Society hosted an amazing welcome picnic with a whole range of societies that ended with great success! Not only did it create a welcoming atmosphere for new students, but it also helped strengthen the bonds of committee members and bring the student groups closer together.
FACS
FACS Pumpkin autopsy collaboration was a highlight of the spooky season! students got to show off their creativity with their pumpkins whilst chatting with friends about their Halloween plans. The turnout for the event was highly impressive and we look forward to what FACS get up to next!
Cosplay And Crafts
Cosplay and Craft Society's MCM London trip was an amazing success! committee from multiple societies grouped together with Cosplay and Crafts to plan a trip to MCM London at a discounted price for their members. The event included a huge artist alley, games industry panels, celebrity meet and greets, and more!
