12/10 - This week, I attended the Michaelmas Celebration in Stafford and the Opening of the Legal Year, representing students as part of the civic side of my role as President. A key part of my role is making sure the student voice is heard not only within the University, but also locally and regionally in the wider communities and spaces where decisions are made. I also have two meetings this week with Hackney Council and the Metropolitan Police, focusing on safety initiatives and how we can better support our students studying in London. It’s another opportunity to make sure the experiences and safety of our students are represented beyond our Stoke campus and across our wider university community.
