We have some wonderful students stepping up to take the lead on a proposed new student group: Deadlock Society.
Deadlock combines the strategic elements of MOBAs such as Dota 2 with the fast-paced shooting mechanics of games like Overwatch and Team Fortress 2.
Players compete in teams of six across three lanes, controlling heroes with unique abilities. The main objective is to push NPC allies, known as troopers, towards the enemy team's Patron while defeating enemy players and destroying defensive structures such as Guardians and Walkers. Players collect souls, which can be spent on upgrades to improve damage, defence and healing. Movement is also an important part of the game, with mechanics such as sliding, double-jumping, zip lines and fans allowing players to move quickly around the map. The game features a large roster of playable heroes, each with their own abilities and playstyles, giving players plenty of options for team composition and strategy.
They are looking to offer opportunities to students to get involved, meet like-minded people, and play their favourite game.
They are looking for interested students who might want to support alongside them as a committee leader (you can find out more here about what works: Clubs and Societies FAQ's)
And are also scoping student interest for members.
