At the heart of the College Road campus is the Ember Lounge venue.
Open on weekdays, it’s the Union’s number one daytime and evening venue for a great range of food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments.
Ember Lounge hosts its massive Karaoke night every Tuesday and the SpeedQuizzing every other Thursday night.
Whether you want a place to study away from the library, join your friends for a meal or partake in a couple of cocktails after a hard day of Uni work, Ember Lounge is the place for you.

Terms and Conditions for Free Meal Offer (30-Minute Late Delivery)
- Eligibility for Free Meal: Customers are eligible for a free meal only if their order is delivered more than 30 minutes after the confirmed order time.
- Exclusions: The following situations are excluded from the free meal offer:
- Communicated at point of order: The customer has been informed of a delay at the point of order and has agreed to wait.
- BOGOF: Where there are specific promotions for multiple items.
- 2nd/3rd Courses: The 30-minute period will not apply to the second or third course of an order; for example, if a dessert is ordered at the same time as the main meal and requested to be delivered after the main meal is completed, then the 30-minute period will commence again from that point.
- Peak Hours Exception: During certain peak hours, such as holidays, weekends, or special promotions, delivery times may exceed 30 minutes. In such cases, the free meal offer will not apply. Customers will be informed of this upon placing their order.
- Order Modifications: If the customer modifies or adds to the order after placing it, the 30-minute guarantee will not apply, and the free meal will not be offered.
- Large Orders: The 30-minute guarantee does not apply to large catering or group orders. The free meal offer is valid for standard orders only.
- Unforeseen Circumstances: In case of unforeseen circumstances that delay delivery, the venue reserves the right to void the free meal offer. This will be communicated to the customer.
- Verification: The venue reserves the right to verify the delivery time and any delays before granting the free meal.
By placing an order, customers agree to these terms and conditions.

The team does this by ensuring measures are in place to keep you safe, including our Union Angels and responsible drinking and safety policies, while maintaining positive relationships with local authorities and licensed trading teams.
In addition to this, our Venues provide continuous staff development and training that provides transferable skills in areas such as First Aid to keep all our members and friends safe.
