Proud to be Staffs Story: Jamie Nicholas

Student | School of Digital, Technologies and Arts

"Jamie stepped into the role of Department Rep for Games & Visual Effects in August 2021, representing by far the largest and most engaged department across the university. The amount of effort required to effectively fulfil this role is so great that we're glad to see it split into two this year, with separate department reps for Games Design and Visual Entertainment & Esports. Regardless, Jamie took to the role like a duck to water - outshining my work as his predecessor by a country mile, taking issues raised with him in stride, and handling high-level boards and committees with ease. Even with all this, and while undertaking a full-time self-led Masters degree, Jamie still found time to volunteer both as Chair of Rep Council and to represent the interests of games students in the selection process for the new Dean of Digital, Technologies and Arts. Student Voice salutes his dedication, and we look forward to working with him next year!"

We hope that you are as proud of your story as we are. However, if you would prefer the Students' Union to no longer display you story on our website, please email union@staffs.ac.uk and a member of our friendly team will be happy to help.
