Proud to be Staffs Story: Jayne Evans

Lecturer, School of Health and Social Care

Occasionally, we all face adverse circumstances that seem to be stacked against us and our families. Facing adversity alongside studies is challenging and it is the dedication of individual academic staff that really suppoort Students to complete their studies and reach their goals. Thank you Jayne, for making us Proud to be Staffs.

Jayne Evans's Story

"While I was in first year of my nursing degree I was going through a really difficult time, my sister had a stroke, my nan had a heart attack and my mum was dying. Jayne helped me through first year and without the support that she gave me I would not have been able to carry on with my studies. At the end of my first year my mum died and I was finding it extremely difficult to cope, again the amount of support Jayne gave to me during this time was brilliant and other members of staff as well. With out Jayne and other members of staff giving the support they did I probably would have left the course after my first year, but I was able to carry on and now I'm almost qualified. This is what makes me proud to get staffs because of how much support you get if your personal tutor and other lecturers. Thank you. "
