Why I Ran for Officer
After serving on the Cop Shop committee for two years, I spent a lot of time speaking with students and parents about their experiences and concerns. Those conversations inspired me to run for Students' Union President so I could help create positive, student-led change and ensure every student feels heard, represented and supported throughout their time at university.
My Leadership Race Campaign
My campaign centred around three priorities: Student-Led Safety, Belonging and Community, and being a President who listens and acts. Every idea came from conversations with students, and I'm excited to turn those conversations into meaningful change throughout the year.
Favourite Memory at Staffs
It's difficult to choose just one! Winning the Students' Union President election has to be one of the proudest moments of my university journey. It was incredibly rewarding knowing that students had placed their trust in me to represent them.
Guilty Confession
I love to spend hours reading romantasy books. My current favourite is Nocticadia by Keri Lake.
Advice to First Years
Get involved as early as you can. Join a society, volunteer, attend events and don't be afraid to put yourself forward for opportunities. University isn't just about earning a degree, it's about the experiences, friendships and confidence you build along the way.
