Welcome back to Staffs!

For us, it felt like 2018 sped by and if you're anything like the person writing this, you've probably forgotten most of it already. So, to help you all out, here's a run down of the highlights, big news and a few predictions for this coming year...

2018 Highlight: We're not saying our ENTIRE world revolves around food... but we're pretty keen on it

If you didn't take a chance to enjoy some of the new food on campus this year, then don't worry... it's all still here in 2019. We got new menus in Ember and Verve with customisation for days, we've hosted some great local businesses selling some of the largest slices of cake we've ever seen and of course, Krispy Kreme premiered in the Union shop to huge success.

2018 Highlight: All new almost e'rrything

From our Squeeze Box Sparkle to a bunch of new events like the Vintage Clothing Fair, Ember Live Lounge and Coffee House Tour we've shook things up to give you all a fresher, more vibrant campus.

2018 Highlight: We're moving on up in the world

Staffs isn't always given props for it's academic prowess but looks like we might just be good enough for Paxman. Our fantastic University Challenge team, Keith, Alice, Harvey, Connor and Ben, have made it through the initial quick fire round and they're on to more general knowledge exams. This is a big deal. We (think) we've never got a team this far before. Keep your fingers crossed in late January for our brainy bunch!

2019 Prediction: Politics (not) as usual

We can't not mention the big B. Things are happening. Whichever way you swing on the issue whatever happens will affect students here at Staffs in a huge way. With local council elections coming up and several of you first years in the category of people too young to have voted in the referendum, it's more important now than ever to make sure you register to vote. It takes, like, barely any time at all so there's no excuse.

2019 Predition: A new President on the horizon...

It's not fake news, President Crump won't be working on making Staffs great again any more. Whilst it's still a while until her term ends and she's got a lot planned around changing the game of accessible sport this semester with You Can, why not take a cheeky peak at how you could take on her job next academic year and #LeadTheChange.
