2019/2020 SEASON NEWS

This year the Stealers are expanding more then ever before, with the return of the second team to the club. Thats right, two teams will be competing this season in the BUCS league. This massive expansion will see the club double in size, we hope to get everyone involved this seaon and open our doors to our new freshers to be part of this amazing club. We also have a new 3V3 league starting this year too, where 12 teams of up to 5 players each play every Friday each semester. This will be a paid for event of £10 per player per semester, however it works out at 90p per session with 11 weeks per semester of action packed games. So don’t miss out, you could have a chance of winning prizes and bragging rights for the year which everyone wants.

We are pleased to say that we have one of the highest foreign attention rates for international students for the sports clubs in the university, this makes for some great conversations off the court and some international flair on it! Staffs Men's currently plays in the Midlands Division 3A. In the 2012-13 season we were promoted from 3A to 2A along with a semi final appearance in the midlands cup against Loughbrough University. Sadly this year the team were demoted to 3A from the (18/19) season however our goal is clear to amend that and go back to our former division

We have featured in the Universitys sporting highlight (Varsity) for the past 10 years winning 8 (7 in a row) and losing 1 game (by 1 basket). The team won last years varsity (2018/2019) 70-60 against Keele in a full sports hall supported by both sides fans.

(Varsity Win 2012) Staffs 75 - 57 Keele (Varsity Win 2013) Staffs 80 - 67 Keele
(Varsity win 2016) Staffs 76 - 61 Keele (Varsity 2019) Staffs 70 - 60 Keele
