Our society welcomes anyone who experiences a condition that impacts daily life, including but not limited to:
Physical or hidden disabilities (e.g. chronic pain, mobility issues)
Long-term health conditions (e.g. diabetes, fatigue, ME)
Mental health challenges (e.g. anxiety, depression)
Learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia, ADHD)
Neurodivergence (e.g. autism, OCD, Tourette’s)
You belong here regardless of whether your condition is noticeable or invisible and whether it lasts a short time or throughout your life.
🤝 What We Do:
We fight for disabled students' rights and the necessary support on the university campus
📣 We provide mutual support through peer connections and personal experiences that members share
💬 We establish safe areas with low-sensory zones and scheduled quiet time for rest periods. 🎧
We organise inclusive events which include game nights and creative sessions, and speaker talks.
We collect feedback from members to enhance both campus accessibility and wellbeing initiatives 📝
We have created a space that provides solidarity and support, along with peaceful moments, to everyone who visits.
🎯 Our Top Priorities for 2025/26 -
🏛️ The university must work to create teaching and campus life environments that welcome all students equally.
🌱 Improve support for mental health and wellbeing 🗣️ The university must provide disabled students with a powerful platform to influence its decision-making processes.
💬 Who Can Join? The society exists to serve disabled and neurodivergent students, but welcomes non-disabled members to participate in open events. Come as you are. Your experiences matter.
