Hello there!
I’m Xander, currently a 1st-year Computer Science student, but I’ve done a foundation year, so this is my second year in Myth. I’m part of the Death Saving Bros slate with Rika Paderes(Communications Officer) and Dan Lorimer/Noggie (Finance Officer) I’m the currently on the Myth subcommittee, as I represent and manage Wargames. You might’ve also seen me talking in the Discord server, at society events as a helping hand, or at the unofficial Myth Saturday family lunches that’s started to take off!
My goal at Wargames was to expand the regular player base and improve.
Although I was a Myth member last year, this year I’ve dived in face first will all the society activities I can do! I’ve had an amazing 2 years as part of this society, and I’d love to try to make the society even better!
If I take on the position of Society Manager, I’ll try to accomplish these things:
- Continuation of Myth’s previous successes. With close ties and huge respect for the previous committee members, you can expect me to take the continuation of their success very seriously. The weekly events, the socials, the special events – you can expect those to continue!
- Increase in Myth Merchandise. With how much some people enjoyed our T-shirts, and some people wanting a second set, I’ll try to get more merch. Be that T-shirts, hoodies or pins.
- Strong committee presence. Whether it’s on our online platforms or our IRL socials, you can expect some of us there for you to say hello to!
- Cross-society collaborations. Taking advantage of my connections with other societies opens a whole new avenue of activities for Myth.
- Listening to your feedback! If you have suggestions or feedback, we’ll discuss them during bi-weekly meetings and see how we can address the things you need.
And here’s how we’ll do it!
- Actively maintaining cross-society relationships by attending other societies events in an official and unofficial manner
- Opening a virtual suggestion box
