Disabilities
Opportunities to volunteer should be available to everybody, regardless of whether or not a person is disabled, and as such if you have a disability, you should be able to participate in any volunteering experience.
Here at your Students' Union we recognise that your participation may be subject to additional barriers, such as access, confidence, communication and attitudes. So, we're here to support you into your chosen volunteering experience. We'll work with you to identify opportunities that meet your interest and expectations and continue to support you into the early stages of your volunteering, along with support from the Student Enabling Centre and the Disabled Students' Network.
Our advice is to first identify some opportunities that interest you on our Website or on the Do-it.org National Database. Once you have some in mind, arrange a time to meet with your Students' Union Employability and HR Team to discuss the next steps and the support you think you might need.
