How do I initiate a Live Lab?
Students' Union Staff
Twice a semester, the Employability and HR Team will ask department managers for suggestions for Live Lab opportunities. If you have an idea for a Live Lab that will be both appealing to our Students and will allow students to make a meaningful contribution to the work of the Students' Union, please first speak with your Line Manager.
Should your Line Manager agree, the next stage for Students' Union staff would to establish a brief for the Live Lab you wish to offer. The Employability and HR Team will support you to develop this. This document isn't designed to be overly detailed but instead to give prospective students an understanding of what the Live Lab entails and why they would want to get involved.
University Staff
Staffordshire University Students' Union will happily support opportunities that will benefit our Students. Students undertaking Live Labs in University environments will receive all of the benefits and opportunities of Students' Union Live Lab Students.
However, we cannot supervise University Live Labs – a suitable individual from the area of work proposing the Live Lab will need to take this responsibility.
