o   Morocco - Atlas Outreach (5th June &  27th July, 2 trips available, 4 weeks) - Fully funded, only payment is £175 registration fee

The Atlas Outreach Project by Travelteer offers students a unique chance to live and volunteer in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains. Participants help improve school infrastructure, support sustainable farming, and teach English, arts, and sports at the Travelteer Summer School. Alongside their volunteer work, students experience local culture, cuisine, and landscapes—making for a transformative, impactful exchange.

o   Sri Lanka Travelteer  (3/8/2025 to 31/8/2025) 4 week Trip to Sri Lanka in August - Fully funded only payment is £175 registration fee

The University of Staffordshire has teamed up with Travelteer to create a bespoke volunteering trip to Sri Lanka. This trip will give students the opportunity to gain insight into a developing country’s healthcare system, help tackle environmental issues and get involved in community English teaching and Sports Development. Projects include: Medical and Mental Health, Sports Development, Marine & Wildlife Conservation and English Teaching.  The experience is open to all students.

o   Nepal - Community Development, 4 weeks from 20th July 2025  - Fully funded, only payment is £175 registration fee

Travelteer’s Community Development programme supports remote villages in Nepal’s Pokhara region through sustainable projects in education, infrastructure, and agriculture. Volunteers work closely with locals on initiatives like school renovations, irrigation improvements, farming support, and educational workshops—gaining hands-on experience while driving meaningful, lasting change.

For Nepal & Morrocco volunteering:
Whilst volunteering with Travelteer, your living costs will be just £32 per day covered by the university and organised by Travelteer to provide all the accommodation, food, project transport and offers 24/7 support - this includes accommodation, transport between your selected projects, as well as three meals a day excluding weekends (In Morocco this is 3 meals a day, 7 days a week) and 24/7 support. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Q - Once I've applied to Travelteer do I pay them the registration fee directly? (i.e. is there no further University involvement).
A- Once we have been through the initial application call, an acceptance will be sent to the student via email with the £175 registration fee attached.

 

Q- How soon will I need to pay the registration?
A- Travelteer allows students a 7-day period to pay their registration fee, which secures their place on the programme. In certain cases, this deadline may be extended upon request.

Q- How quickly should I expect to be contacted (by Travelteer)?
A- Travelteer aims to get in touch as soon as possible, typically within 48 hours. Once contact is made, we’ll arrange an application call to guide you through the next steps.

 

Q- What will I need to provide/bring (apart from the £175 registration fee).?
A- Additional Costs to Consider:

  • Weekend activity expenses
  • Visa fees (around $30)
  • Travel insurance
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • Vaccinations (note: proof of vaccination is not required)
