why not become a student trustee

Students’ Union Board of Trustees
Hey Stafford health heroes / UoSL students,

I’m Precious, your Students’ Union President, a student like you, and Chair of the Students’ Union Board of Trustees. We’re looking for one of you to join our Board as a student trustee.
Wondering what a student trustee is? I did too. A student trustee is a student who forms part of the Board, makes sure managers are focusing on us, the students and helps develop the Union’s priorities and strategies, "ensuring the Union is focusing on the issues that matter to students".
This is where we decide the big stuff: where money goes, what gets prioritised, what changes, and what we fight for. If you’ve ever said “this needs to be better” about placements, support, or campus life, this is your lane.

What you would do as a Student Trustee (SU Board)
Forms part of the Students’ Union Board of Trustees as a full voting member.
Contribute to decisions on priorities, strategy, budgets, governance, and risk from a Stafford / London student perspective.
Ensure the Union delivers effectively for students at Stafford Campus / London and across all campuses.
Hold elected officers and senior SU management to account for performance and impact.

Why does this matter to Stafford or London students?
Stafford Campus students face distinct pressures: placements, professional standards, fitness-to-practise requirements, academic intensity, and wellbeing demands. A Student Trustee from this campus ensures those realities shape SU strategy, resource allocation, and priorities.
For London, we want to make sure the plans represent you, budget allocations, events and opportunities.
