07/03/26: 06:00 hours - The day didn't start well

Following a mix up with their coach pick up time, there was a quick scramble to assemble alternative transport - our Dance team needed to get to Nottingham to compete in the competition they had trained months for. Weekly training sessions, practice, routines and aching muscles, were not going to waste; the team were not going to stumble at the last hurdle. Last minute train tickets and car rides were quickly organised and the team were on there way to Nottingham University.

Fate was on their side - The competition is called Go Hard or Go Home, and that's exactly what the team did!

Our fantastic Staffordshire University Dance Club took to the stage, performed their best routines and came away with not one, not two, but THREE trophies!

Third Place

In Contemporary Dance (choreographed by Phoebe Smith), the dance theme was Circus.

Second Place

In Wildcard (choregraphed by (Dev Das - manager) and Callum Taylor (Communications officer), the dance themes were Hip Hop & Jazz

The team had far from expected a win, as they hadn't pre choregraphed the routine and had entered this one for fun!

First Place

In lyrical Dance (choreographed by Emily Mason) Choreographed to the song "ceilings" which had the audience engaged and on the edge of their seats.

Dev Das, Club Manager told us: It was honestly so fun, and I am so honoured to have led the team to a first-place trophy which had never been done before! Additionally, competing in two styles which we had never competed in before and getting trophies in them was the cherry on top!

After a rocky start to the day, SUDC put their all into the competition and we're so glad it paid off - Congratulations Dance Club, you make us Proud to be part of Staffs!
