Proud to Shout About is a platform for students to celebrate their successes in being part of the union. Whether it’s running societies or simply moments that make you proud, this is the space to share them. It’s all about highlighting the effort, dedication, and passion that students put into their university life and giving them the recognition they deserve.

Here's what the Group had to say about their event:

On January 26th, RAMS and Creative Writing Society hosted a "deadly" collaborative evening event - a roleplaying murder mystery game themed around a rock concert! Jaime and Lizzy, taking the role of duo rock band "Lez-Lizzard", wore haunting electrocution-themed makeup as participants worked together to find the two killers who had "murdered" them in cold blood. Each student held a character card that not only provided a short bio to roleplay from, but a role known only to them that could change the direction of the game! The event was a highly sociable one, with students embracing the brief character information they were given and turning idle sections of the game into character-based dramas with fully fledged backstories and dynamics.

We also had a "best-dressed" award jointly won by Aura and Eren - congratulations on being acknowledged for your wonderful fits! The nature of the event, with many physical character cards and required rule sheets, took much preparation to fully realise. However, this work paid off with fully-designed physical cards for the students to keep as mementos of the night, with character bios that allowed even the basic role to break out of their shell through roleplay!

Kai, who played the "security" role in the event, states: “I played 'Sharon', the security officer of the venue. I got the very entertaining job of pretending like I wasn't having the time of my life with this event. I got to watch some very confused faces when I flipped between tired Sharon at her notebook and happy Kai seeing who else was having that much fun with the roles. Quite the rush!"

Lowenna tells us that "As the one who planned the game and wrote all the character roles and bios, this event still wouldn't have been possible, let alone effective, without the enthusiastic participation of those who attended. I am still absolutely blown away by how much effort people put into developing their characters and hunting down the killers (or deceiving people away from them in some cases), and I couldn't be more grateful that the members of both RAMS and CWS, as well as our guests, are such passionate people. This is the exact kind of atmosphere I want to be fostered within CWS, and I am sure my fellow CWS committee and the RAMS committee feel the same! We'd like to run a similar event in the future, possibly with extra societies involved to switch up the theme of the game, so watch this space for the next RAMS x CWS murder mystery takeover..."
