A proud member of our community told us...
"Recent changes to staffing at the university are never easy to navigate, but are especially when they leave questions about an impact on students' experiences. Following the loss of a technical staff member, Ceramics students were concerned about their ability to access specific technical equipment that was vital to their studies. Thanks to the intervention of Lucy and Ange, these concerns were escalated right up to the Executive Dean of the School so solutions could be found. Though solutions are still being tested, without Lucy & Ange's contributions there would have been a significant gap in students' technical support.
Collating feedback, contacting relevant staff and then negotiating on solutions might sound straightforward, but it requires energy and tenacity. As mature students with priorities and responsibilities outside of their studies, Lucy and Ange's commitment to tackling their issue head on in commendable!
