A proud student has told us...

"Mandie has the biggest impact on people that I think I’ve ever experienced. She is completely selfless and gives 100% to anyone. She is approachable and also notices everything, she notices those who may not reach out but may need support. She dedicates so much of her time to others and is a completely priceless asset to the university and anyone she meets in life. She is very respected and loved.

She made starting mine and others nursing degree comfortable and made it feel achievable, even when doubts creep in from those she teaches. She’s not just a lecturer, she is a role model, a counsellor, a friend, full of solution and reason. I know myself and many others feel that she is always in your corner if you need her. She’s like a mother figure. I wonder sometimes if she ever feels put on because that lady just gravitates everyone, she is a comfort and sense of security. There’s not a thing she wouldn’t do to help people.

I’m proud to have met her and proud of how she is as a person, what a beautiful nurse she is. Inspiring. I’m sure she has touched the lives of many. She is one of a kind and sets the bar incredibly high in terms of lecturing, nobody comes close. I’m in my second year now and don’t get taught by her now, but the one lesson we did have with her for a module recently; the student engagement was massive, because she is what feels like home. She is realistic. She invites people to have character, to be themselves, she is fair. She encourages humour and this is why response in her lecturers is so much better. She doesn’t just talk at you, she talks to you and with you. The day that this lady stops teaching will be a massive loss to the course. I’m glad I got to be taught by her!

I’d like to thank her for the impact she has, the difference she makes and her selfless beautiful soul that she has."

Thank you for making a positive difference for students here at Staffs.
