We're pleased to share examples of the wonderful people and groups in our community and how they make our student members feel proud. Each group or individual that receives a recognition submission is in with a chance of winning a We Are Staffs Award!

"The committee is not only extremely active on the social platforms and discord but are also really friendly and approachable in helping students individually. I have reached out to many of them as they are my seniors, hoping for some guidance and feedback and they were always sincere with their advice. The committee puts in a lot of effort to plan out each month's events in advance which is truly inspirational."
"The committee are abundantly friendly always willing to help or even just joke around. Somehow at least once a month they manage to go beyond my expectation by hosting events with guest speakers giving all attendees a helping step up into industry. These events have also had focuses on sustainability and equality both specifically in the tech and just generally."
"The committee makes me proud because of how much they care. They consistently give their time to create free opportunities, support important causes and make sure students feel included. Being part of a university where students look out for each other like this makes it feel like the right place to be. Having fun with them at socials and I don’t really think other committees take the time to do that as much. I’ve definitely made long lasting friends from it."
"The computing society are a huge reason why I'm proud to be part of Staffs Uni and the society itself. They demonstrate strong teamwork and dedication to their members, working together in a way that clearly puts the needs of their members first. It's obvious that a lot of thought and effort goes on behind the scenes. What really stands out is how well the committee listens to their members and act on student voice. They encourage feedback, take suggestions seriously and actually deliver on them, whether that's shaping events around the interests of their members, improving communication and making changes to ensure that everyone feels welcome."

"The committee is the reason this all works. They don’t just plan events, they care. They listen to students, act on feedback and go above and beyond to make sure people feel supported. Seeing that level of effort from students reflects incredibly well on Staffs as a university. It shows that Staffs trusts students to lead, create impact and actually make university life better and that’s something I’m proud to be part of. It’s been fun working with them and seeing firsthand how much effort goes into making every single event unique on a weekly basis, how they dish out tasks and support each other on them when they have exams and assignments. I would have never known that they all met at SCS events!"
