A proud student has told us...

"Although I have a great deal of respect for every academic I've come across at Staffs, I genuinely cannot think of anybody here, or frankly anyone elsewhere, who works harder than Dr Romina Vivaldi to make a positive impact. As a lecturer and mentor to students, she is unfailingly kind, professional and encouraging. She is always the first to offer help to those who need it, often going well out of her way to ensure her students' learning, success and wellbeing. However, this only covers Romina's role as a Senior Lecturer, and her impact at Staffs goes far, far beyond this. You may know her name from the "Call Me By My Name" campaign, designed to foster an inclusive and respectful university culture via correct name pronunciation, and this is an excellent example of her outlook, both as a psychologist and as an individual. Romina's push for diversity, awareness and equity in the campus community is infectious and clearly has a profound impact upon her students, many of whom feel especially seen and validated to her approach. Essentially, Romina's passion for EDI is both deeply heartfelt and effective, and thus actively improves student life for a great many people who may never have even met her in person."

"I would personally like to thank Romina for being an excellent PhD supervisor. She has been an immeasurable help in every aspect of my studies, always going above and beyond. It's also thanks to Romina's dedicated work as a lecturer that I am researching my PhD at Staffs at all: she was the first member of staff that I spoke to in person at an open day, took many sessions related to my eventually area of research throughout my MSc, and helped guide me through the PhD application process. So I can literally say that I would not be where I am today (filling in this form in between editing ethics application documents) without Romina."

Thank you for making a positive difference for students here at Staffs.
