Some proud members of our community told us...

" Engineering society help bring practical to practice by letting members get hands-on. Their workshops and collaborations are brilliant to learn, brilliant to get any beginner going and a fun community to be part of. Soldering, robot wars visits in live arenas and laser cutting, so much for everyone!

Engineering society and their committee deserve recognition for all of the work that they do behind the scenes. They do not shout the loudest, they don't make a fuss - they just crack on with practical activities which they know their members will benefit from. Starting with the robot maze that they created themselves and offered at the Big Give it A Go event which they attended as part of Supporting Staffs, they built their maze out of reclaimed items, to keep it as sustainable as possible.

They brought the opportunity for their members to attend the Robot Warz Live Show and negotiated reduced priced tickets for their members, helping them to attend an exciting event without the hefty price tag.

They have collaborated with a number of other groups and offered skills sharing opportunities to a wider group of students - such joining with the Computing Society to deliver their soldering workshop and with Myth & Computing to tour the 3D printing workshop. They have delivered a wide range of hands on skills development sessions for their members, always with sustainability, material reclaiming and recycling in mind.

To Lucie Guest: Your leadership is like no other and it is very clear that you have helped bring this vibrant community together. They look to you as the subject expert and you deliver time after time. Your work is great and you should be proud!

To Annalise Friend: Thank you for giving it your all and showing up, your energy is vibrant in the room and the events you support with are awesome! Your hard work is noticed."
