We're pleased to share examples of the wonderful people and groups in our community and how they make our student members feel proud. Each group or individual that receives a recognition submission is in with a chance of winning a We Are Staffs Award!

"I love this society. As someone who has social anxiety and initially hated uni because I was away from my family and friends, I would get depressed a lot in my first year. But when I joined Idol later on in year 1 I started to make friends and find people like me and I finally had something to look forward to in uni, to the point where now I dread going home. Idol gave me community and I'm really thankful for that."
"I joined Staffordshire University this September, and Idol Society has helped me feel settled in from the very start of the year. It keeps me active, as well as allows me to have opportunities to feel seen and included. I haven't made many friends this year, so I believe that Idol deserves this award more than anything."
"All the committee and members at Idol are really nice and make sure to try their best to ensure no one is feeling lonely or left out whilst there. Because of it I've also been able to make 2 friends I wouldn't have made otherwise and its usually the thing I look forward to most each week.
The society has also tried their best to make sure to make fun and unique collabs and events such as the Hallowhe'el event they hosted in October which has been the most fun I've had at the uni so far. It has also allowed me to meet and connect with people on other courses or the same course as me which has been interesting hearing about their experience in their studies here"
"This is a society with a welcoming atmosphere, and the place I’ve truly felt like myself for the past 2 years. I’ve known lots of friends, improved on myself and had the most fun in idol."
