Spotlight Hoyo society

This week, again, it’s time for yet another society to take the spotlight, and it’s none other than the Hoyo society! The Hoyo Society is focused on all things Hoyoverse.

Hoyoverse is a game development company that is behind games like Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, the upcoming game Zenless Zone Zero and more, alongside related Hoyo media (like comics, novels and music).

Hoyo Society is for fans of these games who are interested in improving their builds, learning more about the games and meeting others who are interested in them!

The society is run by the manager - Emily Coakley, well-being and inclusions officer - Jacob Stirling; finance officer - Evin Oxley; and communications officer - Noah Cross.

Hoyo Society Events and Activities

Hoyo Society hosts weekly socials on Thursday nights from 5-8 pm, with the activities they take part in varying. Sometimes, the weekly sessions are craft-focused, for example, the Hoyoverse-themed papercraft sessions where members can create small paper figurines of a selection of Hoyoverse. They are also planning to host a papercraft event as a part of Squeezebox Nights on the 11th of March, so make sure to stop by if you are interested in trying it!

However, sessions can also be more purely social. In the past, Hoyo Society has hosted Hoyoverse-themed Kahoot quiz sessions based around certain games with prizes for those who do well, as well as member presentations about Hoyoverse-related topics. These sessions can also be simple chill-out sessions where members are encouraged to bring their own devices to play Hoyoverse games or simply just enjoy the company of other members. The group is also interested in hosting Genshin TCG competitions and more in future.

You can also join Hoyo’s discord server, which provides a space for members to play together and discuss game-related topics. There are sections for different games as well as for people to play the games together should they want to do online activities. They may also promote relevant external events here, so it’s worth keeping an eye on their server!

Why join Hoyo Society?

If you are a new fan of Hoyoverse games, the Hoyo Society is a perfect place to learn more about how to play from those with more experience and resources. Even if you aren’t new, being a part of the Hoyo Society allows you to meet others who play the same games as you and have similar interests. Hoyo Society’s scope of games goes from the more popular to the more obscure, so regardless of your specific game of choice, there will always be someone there.
