The Student Group Badge framework recognises the work of our student groups helping to deliver our Values
The range of opportunities on offer from our student groups is incredibly broad, from academic mentoring to zombie fighting.
Whilst delivering these events and activities, many of our groups frequently demonstrate the key attributes that we wish to see in our club's and society's provision; helping to deliver on our core values for students.
Our Student Group Badge framework aims to recognise these achievements which demonstrate commitment from our student group leaders, opportunities for their members and pride in their community.
The badges are awarded at the end of terms one and two, where a group has demonstrated on two or more occasions, the attributes of each badge theme, with the awarded badges feeding into the end of year student group Proud To Be Staffs recognition awards.
Community & Civic Partners Badge: Awarded for developing & improving civic partnerships within our local community, such as working with schools, community organisations, charity fundraising / campaigns and awareness.
Inclusion Badge: For consistently demonstrating inclusive practice, providing a variety of ways for students to engage, aiming to overcome barriers to engagement, celebrating member's achievements and encouraging all members to achieve their potential.
Make a Change Badge: For constructive contributions to making positive change for students, such as group representation at Student Group Executive Meetings, feedback forums and Union student research initiatives or submitting Proud to Shout About It News to raise awareness of positive impacts made by students
Supporting Staffs Badge: For contributing to or supporting university or Students' Union events benefitting the wider Staffs campus community, such as group representation at Open/Discovery Days, helping out at Move-in, supporting wider Welcome events, Officer campaigns etc
Sustainabilty Badge: For hosting or participating in sustainability themed activities, engaging in local or national environmental campaigns or for raising awareness/ providing opportunities for sustainable development education and going further in reducing negative environmental impacts.
Collaboration Badge: For sharing opportunities, ideas and resources with other student groups and harnessing each others creativity; working in partnership with a network of Staffs students to organise / co-host events to broaden the reach and offer opportunities beyond their own group's membership.
