Students Receive Over £44,500 in Extra Financial Support Since January
The Students’ Union Advice Team has secured £44,500 in additional funding for students since 1 January, marking a significant boost to financial support at a time when many are facing increased living costs.
This latest figure brings the total to more than £187,000 in extra funding awarded to students since September. The team has been working closely with students to assess individual circumstances and ensure they receive the financial assistance they are entitled to.
The additional funding has been obtained through targeted guidance on a range of support schemes, including:
- Student Finance entitlement
- Universal Credit eligibility
- Foodhub food vouchers
Students who believe their Student Finance assessment may be incorrect, or who are struggling to manage the cost of essentials such as food, are encouraged to seek advice as soon as possible.
