Staffs Versus Keele Varsity
Varsity 2026 is not far away and our sports teams at Staffs are training hard, ready to take on the mental and physical challenge of the annual Staffs Vs Keele Varsity.
We’ll be cheering from the sidelines and wishing all Staffs teams the best of luck.
In the meantime, we’re shining our Student Group Spotlight on some of those amazing teams who’ll be competing, so you can cheer along too, or maybe even get involved with some of the clubs yourself!

The Staffordshire Stallions | American Football
About the group:
University of Staffordshire American Football Club are one of the oldest and most established sports clubs at the university. Our team Staffordshire Stallions have been competing in BUCS Northern Tier 2A in the 2025/26 season competing against the likes of Lancaster, Liverpool John Moores, and local rivals Keele University.
We play on a Sunday and train on a Tuesday and Thursday and we are one of the few mixed gender sports on campus. We have a lot of fun and have a very good social group outside of training, we host multiple events outside of American football like charity events and our own awards evening where we celebrate the hard work and achievements of our members.
Special Acheivements to include:
This year we made a push for playoffs and promotion despite the weather doing its best getting the games called off.
We’ve been promoted within the past 5 years and are pushing hard to get back to that level as a team.
We’ve also raised over £1,000 over the past 2 years spread across 2 charities.
