Staffs Versus Keele Varsity
Varsity 2026 is not far away and our sports teams at Staffs are training hard, ready to take on the mental and physical challenge of the annual Staffs Vs Keele Varsity.
We’ll be cheering from the sidelines and wishing all Staffs teams the best of luck.
In the meantime, we’re shining our Student Group Spotlight on some of those amazing teams who’ll be competing, so you can cheer along too, or maybe even get involved with some of the clubs yourself!

Staffs Reindeers | Table Tennis
About the group:
We are a welcoming and active Table Tennis Club that brings people together through fun, competitive, and social play. Whether you’ve never picked up a paddle before or you already play regularly, everyone is welcome.
We meet every week for structured but relaxed sessions located in the LRV next to verve:
• Tuesdays: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
• Fridays: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
At our sessions, we:
- Play casual games to build confidence and skill.
- Organise matches for friendly competitions
- Rotate players so everyone gets a chance to play different opponents.
- Run fun challenges to keep things interesting.
We also host special events such as:
- UV Table Tennis with glow-in-the-dark equipment.
- Mini-tournaments and skill challenges.
- Themed or surprise sessions to keep the energy high.

Why You Should Get Involved:
We’re more than just a sports club — we’re a great community of people who support each other. If you’re new to table tennis, we’ll help you learn and improve in a relaxed, encouraging environment. If you just want to socialise and meet new people, this is a great place to do it.
There’s no pressure and no need to be nervous — everyone starts somewhere, and we’re always happy to welcome new faces. Don’t be afraid to come down and give it a try.
You might find it becomes the highlight of your week.
