Due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19, and following on from discussions with all parties, the decision has been made to cancel this year’s Varsity. With the current drain on normally available emergency services, this decision has been made with the safety of all players, officials and spectators as the primary concern. As a Students’ Union here at Staffordshire University, we’re mindful that such an event puts a demand on local emergency services that would currently be better placed supporting the community at this time.
We are grateful for all the effort that teams, organisers and individuals have already put in place, and would like to thank everyone for their understanding during this time.
As the situation with Covid-19 is ever changing, we are unable at this stage to reschedule the event, but will provide any updates on our Union and the Varsity website as they occur.
