Opportunity description:

Welcome to the Dudson Museum, where the captivating history of Dudson Pottery production intertwines with a fascinating industrial narrative of both local and national significance. As one of the few remaining pottery museums solely dedicated to the heritage of a single company, The Dudson Museum stands as a pinnacle of importance.

Main Tasks:

  • Manage relationships with schools
  • Develop and maintain educational materials
  • Develop and deliver educational visits/workshops

Hours:

The Dudson Museum is currently open Monday – Friday between 10am & 3pm. As we expand the number of events we deliver some of these will also take place on evenings and weekends.  The amount of time required for this role is flexible and depends on the nature of individual events.

Skills & Experience Desired:

  • Good communication skills, with a welcoming and friendly attitude.
  • Good IT and/or social media skills
  • Commitment to providing excellent and inclusive customer service experience for all visitors.
  • Ability to support people of all ages and abilities, including young children and families, and people with English as a second language.
  • Team working and willing to help others.
  • Enthusiasm and willing to learn new skills.
  • An interest in local history, ceramics, arts and crafts, and an ability to learn about the history of Dudson Pottery and The Dudson Centre site.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible.
  • Ability to work using own initiative and follow procedures.
