Who are Read Easy North Staffs?

Read Easy North Staffs is a small voluntary organisation providing free, one-to-one, reading coaching for adults who struggle to read in the Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme areas. We are looking for a volunteer to join our Management Team to boost our publicity. This is a home-based role.

Publicity Officer Role:

• You will create and update social media content for our group.
• You will write media releases for local newspapers and radio.
• You will liaise with local media and undertake interviews yourself or arrange for another member of the team to do so.
• You will attend team meetings, either in person or on line,and play an active role in decision making

Skills and experience desired:

• You will need access to your own laptop/computer and internet.
• Help is available to improve your skills with creating and posting on social media.
• You will have good written and verbal communication skills.
• You do not need experience in teaching adult literacy.

Training:

 All volunteers will receive relevant training/induction.

Skills and development:

• Training and mentoring available to help you in your role. 
• Support is available from other team members plus advisors from Read Easy UK.
• You can be involved in national forums and events with other volunteers
• You can claim essential travel and other expenses.
