What is Churnet Sound Radio?

Churnet Sound Radio is a not-for-profit online radio station, and its brand purpose is to entertain, engage and promote the interests of local communities in the Stoke on Trent, Newcastle, Staffordshire Moorlands and Cheshire East through all platforms to enable us to expand our listeners. We broadcast via the internet, churnetsound.co.uk website, DAB, Alexa and Apps and have social media and Twitter.  We broadcast local news, local weather, local events, show biz etc. One of our main aims is to combat social isolation amongst rural communities.

What will I be doing?

This role can be home/studio based. The role involves:

  • research and development of various marketing strategies for services offered by Churnet Sound by visiting local businesses face to face.
  • Implement marketing plans by cold-calling local businesses and follow potential leads which will generate new sales leads.
  • Contribute information ideas and research to help develop marketing strategies with the Sales Director the Radio.
  • Help to detail, design, and implement marketing plans for the service being offered by the radio and to attend show and travel to meet clients as needed.

Skills and experience desired:

We are looking for someone who is a great communicator, enthusiastic and has previous experience in either marketing, social media or PR through education, work, or volunteering and to maintain excellent relationships with clients through superior customer service.

Training:

 All volunteers will receive relevant training/induction.
