Opportunity description:

Asha is governed by a Board of Trustees who are appointed for a term of up to four years.  The Board meets on the evening of the last Tuesday of every month. The meetings are held at Asha and/or online, according to circumstances.

Asha is seeking three new Trustees to join the Board. We are seeking to increase the diversity of the Board and in particular would welcome expressions of interest from members of the community who can offer one or more of the following:

  • Lived experience as a refugee and/or asylum seeker
  • Experience of voluntary service
  • Familiarity with some of the languages of Asha’s service users
  • Experience of service delivery management
  • Legal background and experience

Asha is proud to be a secular organisation that puts all human needs before religion and faith. A deep belief in and respect for the value of all human beings is essential.

Training:

 All volunteers will receive relevant position induction.

Skills and development:

  • Experience of working on a board of Trustees for an organisation
  • Experience of senior management of an organisation
  • Teamwork and communication skills
