The University of Staffordshire is celebrating success at the prestigious Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) 2025, having been awarded Bronze in the Career Prospects category for British Universities.
The Whatuni Awards reflect the voices and experiences of students across the country and are the only higher education awards in the UK where institutions are judged and scored exclusively by students through their reviews across a range of categories.
The University of Staffordshire’s success marks an outstanding achievement for the organisation which has risen to take one of the top 3 places this year, up from its top 10 position in 2023.
The Students Union is proud to be working with the Careers at Staffs Team, to promote the opportunities available for students to gain work-related experience, access international opportunities and explore their career options.
Last week the Students' Union welcomed David, a level 4 Esports student, who has started a 7 week paid internship to carry out a review of the Students Union's current practices and policies around environmental sustainability. As well as personally gaining research and analysis skills in a workplace environment, David will be reporting back with recommendations and suggestions to help inform and shape the Union's sustainability work going forward.
This internship builds on the Unions' successful previous collaboration with the University's Careers Team in the 2023/24 academic year, when they secured funding to place 2 paid student internships with the Union. Working with the Union Officer Team, last years interns, Daniel and Justina, produced a series of Leadership and Citizenship modules to contribute to the orientation programme for new students.
The Students Union are also continuing to help promote the subsidised trips to Morocco, Sri Lanka and Nepal that are still available as part of the global connections initiative.
