OMG! How proud are we?
In an awards ceremony this week at London's O2 Arena, our OMG Radio team were over the moon to pick up not one but two Best of Category awards as well as two bronze awards.
The Student Radio Awards is a scheme celebrating talent within the UK student radio industry, it has been held annually since 1996 and is supported by BBC Radio 1, Global Radio the Association of Radio Alumni.
Our own radio alumni, Chris Steers and Kelvin Andrews attended the event and were overjoyed to hear the announcements.
Awards received were:
The Joe Lyons Award For Best Producer - Chris Steers, OMG Radio
Best Speech Programming Award - 'Subculture Snapshot', OMG Radio
Runner up/Bronze awards:
The Kevin Greening Award for Creativity - 'Bowie & Beyond, Ep 2 Here Come The Bowie-ites' - OMG Radio

Our OMG Student Radio station is run by students for students, in partnership with the Students' Union and the University.
The team have a new committee in place this year and it's clear that they have lots of exciting plans and opportunities lined up for members, with celebrity interviews, film premier attendance and reviews, outside broadcasts and events and of course lots of conversation about what matters to you and student life on campus.
We're sure that there will be even more awards nominations to look forward to and we cant' wait!
