As an international student from Austria studying in England, I came to the Staffordshire University to do my final year in ABM. As I arrived at Staffordshire I was introduced to the the clubs and societies you can join while studying here. This is something we don´t have in this form where I come from and I probably wouldn´t have participated, if not given this extra little shove by a welcome rep. Now I am a member of 3 different societies where I´ve met new freinds and participate on great activities. I play lacrosse against other Universities with the lacrosse team, go on surftrips with the surf society and poker in the casino with the poker society.

Still a lot of people I know have no interest in joining societies although they don´t really now why.

So I have made it to my goal to do an SAP project on clubs and societies at the Staffordshire University. My focus is to find out if students are happy with there clubs and societies and what they would improve, also why people are not members of any clubs and what would be necessary to motivate them to join one. When this research report is finished I hope to have gained enough information on how to improve the participation by clubs and societies and enhance the student experience here and make it a bit more unforgettable everyone.
