We'd like to introduce you to the Engineering Society, a hub of creativity and exploration that welcomes students from all backgrounds. If you're a computing student, this is a unique opportunity to expand your horizons and explore the world of engineering.

Why Should You Join the Engineering Society?

Our society offers a blend of academic enrichment, practical experience, and professional networking. Here's why you should consider being a part of this exciting journey:

  • Hands-On Learning: We go beyond textbooks and lectures. As a member, you'll have access to state-of-the-art resources and equipment that go beyond conventional teaching. It's the chance to get your hands dirty and see your ideas come to life.

  • Professional Connections: Building a network is crucial in any field. By joining us, you'll connect with industry professionals and academics who have already made their mark. This is your opportunity to learn from the best and establish meaningful connections.

  • Challenge and Innovation: At the heart of engineering is problem-solving. Our society thrives on thrilling challenges, from kinetic design to robotics and programming. We'll push you to think outside the box and be at the forefront of innovation.

  • Creativity Unleashed: Engineering isn't just about calculations; it's about creation. With our workshops and resources, you can design, build, and innovate. Take your creations home and continue refining your skills.

What's Been Happening?

In our recent "Spooktacular Lanterns Workshop," we delved into the world of 3D printing models, servos, and open-source programming. It was a fun and educational experience, and it's just a taste of what we have in store.

Robots Live VIP tour backstage before the show in order to meet the Roboteers and also the machines. This was very educational to us as we got to learn about how much work went into these machines and also the materials that were used to make them.

Ghouls and GitHub: Where a 3D printed eyeball that is attached to 2 servo motors which our members had to figure out how to construct this model and then next week they will be learning how to program the motors to make the movement.

What's Coming Up?

We will be doing 2big projects like these per month, so there's always plenty to learn, and lots of exciting things to try.

How to Join?

If you're ready to explore the world of engineering, joining is simple and affordable. Membership costs just £3.00.
