On 6th December 2023, Staffordshire University and Staffordshire University Students' Union organised the Winter Fair that became a HUGE success, attended by over 500 students, 100 Staff and over 60 members of the public!

A total of 83 students participated in this event to sell their products. The event was about selling products made by our creative students who were studying Cartoon and Comic Arts, Illustration, Surface Patterns, Fashion, 3D Designer Maker and MA Ceramics.

The event started at LRV and Catalyst at 10 AM. We saw a good number of people coming in right from the beginning, but both the venues witnessed a large attendance by students from both Staff and Sixth form college and the general public.

The event was a collaboration of lecturers, university staff and the students’ union, led by Adrian Tooth, Course Director of the School of Digital, Technologies and Arts. He dedicates the success of this event to the team effort. Adrian says, "I'd like to thank Paul Smith and the portering team for doing a brilliant job as ever laying out the tables. Judy O'Brien and her team for the help and support in putting the event on and helping to advertise it. Overall, talking to the students from across a range of courses, they loved it, and it really enhanced their student experience".

At Catalyst, a stall was set to serve Hot Chocolate to students by the Marketing and Communications team, and they served 500 cups of Hot Chocolate. The stall was consistently busy right up to closing time!

Another exciting project that became a centre of attraction was the Drawing Board outside LRV. The drawing board was created by students of the Cartoon and Comic Arts course at Staffordshire University as an idea to get students to interact and be aware of the winter fair, and the drawing board became a work of art!

In the end, the Winter Fair became a massive success! We thank everyone who attended the event and helped it be successful.
