Staffs Students' Union EXCELLENT in Sustainability!

Every year, Students' Unions around the country submit information to the National Union of Students (NUS) to assess their sustainability work. At the end of all this, each organisation is given a rating of "Working Towards", "Very Good", or the best of the best, "Excellent" in Green Impact.

 

 

From reducing our non-recylable plastics in Squeezebox to collecting everything but the kitchen sink from student halls in our annual Great Donate haul, we're extremely proud of everything we do to reduce our impact on the environment and make a difference to the planet (we've only got one!).

Well firstly, we're keeping our fingers crossed for our very own Staffs TV, who are up for a Green Gown award for their Staffs TV does Top Gear Green Week special, which if you missed it, you can watch here.

 

Otherwise, Vice President Steph Cairncross will be leading on everything green and ethical this year. She's got big plans to encourage students to grow their own food and get cooking, saving them money whilst being friendlier to the environment too. Watch this space!
