Staffs Pole and Aerial
The Pole and Aerial Arts Society is all about combining fun and fitness together. Both Pole and Aerial are a great way to tone up and build up strength.
As long as you're up for a laugh and you don't mind a little exercise you can easily join the society - you can be upside down on the pole or silks in no time!
We welcome all ages and fitness levels - don't be shy about coming on your own either, the instructors are extremely friendly and so are the existing members. It's a great way to make new friends with similar interests.
All of our instructors are amazing at what they do and really enthusiastic! They've been on Britain's Got Talent and entered various other competitions.
You can learn more about them by going to the pole fit page on facebook or their official site.
There is no need to feel insecure about yourself. You can wear what you feel comfortable in. All we ask is you leave your legs and arms bare for grip, and so shorts and a tank top are suggested. We also ask that you do not moisturise before a lesson as it stops you from being able to grip!
Both Pole and Aerial lessons are held at the PoleFit studios in Longton:
Unit 2, Aynsley Mill, Sutherland Road, Longton, ST3 1HZ
Train - Around £2 return from Stoke - there is usually a group who get the train together, look on our Facebook page if you don't want to go by yourself!
Bus - number 23 or 26 from city road (about a 10 minute walk from the uni) or the number 6/6a from Victoria road (again about a 10minute walk from the uni) - Around £1.75 each way
Taxi - normally £4-5 one way and so may be best for more than one of you to go at once
Car* - some people may be able to offer lifts, you can easily arrange this with other members through our facebook group.
*Lifts: If you are giving other members a lift, it is highly recommended you register your car with the university for safety precautions but also as you can claim back petrol money (24p per mile). Longton is roughly 3 miles from Stoke campus.
Lessons will start from 3rd October, and your initial membership will cover you until 29th January
Tuesdays 5:15pm - 6:15pm are the lessons for the university society
However, if you can't make this session you can also attend:
Mondays 7:30pm - 8:30pm, Thursday 6:30pm - 7:30pm or Sundays 4pm - 5pm
Thursday 6:30pm - 7:30pm or Sundays 4pm - 5pm
We also have some training / practice sessions which you can come along to where we go through the moves we've learnt in class and generally have a laugh.
These sessions will be held every Wednesday from 5pm - 6pm in LRV.
£45 for three months membership - this is an amazing offer and works out at £3 per class.
After the initial three months, the memberships will be £25 per month. To buy this membership, you will have to go on to the PoleFit website and select the Staffs Membership.

About me: I joined Pole and Aerial Arts when I started university in September 2015. I was really nervous about joining, but all of the doubts went away as soon as I went to my first session. I instantly fell in love with Pole. Over the year, I could see my progress and my confidence increase. I'd definitely recommend Pole to anyone, when I started I had absolutely no strength - you really don't need to be fit to start!
