Student Advice Team | Book an Appointment
We are holding the majority of our appointments virtually over MS Teams, but we are also able to arrange some telephone and in-person appointments, so let us know your requirements when booking an appointment with us.
To get general advice via email, get in touch with us at sac@staffs.ac.uk.
If you are looking to book an appointment and speak with us, get in touch with us at union@staffs.ac.uk or call us on 01782 294629 weekdays from 9am. As always we advise you to contact us as early in the day as you can for appointment slots as they can go quickly.
What can the Student Advice Team offer?
The Students' Union’s Advice Team are here to represent your academic interests, by empowering you to make the right decisions for your circumstances including around student finance, money, housing and academic issues.
We also offer advice and representation at various University panels e.g. appeals, academic misconduct, disciplinary, complaints etc. It's really important that you contact us as soon as you have been officially informed by the University of any allegations made against you so that we can help. You are entitled to representation and we are here to help, so please contact us if you are facing conduct or disciplinary proceedings.
Occasionally due to the team having other commitments, availability may be reduced; so we advise you to ring and check first.
We also offer information about different topics on our website which can be found by clicking here.

Attending your appointment
All students have access to Microsoft Office 365 which you can log into with your University account. This includes the MS Teams collaboration tool which replaces Skype for Business.
Advisers will be able to contact you by voice call or video link, even if they are working away from the university and do not have access to the phone network. Teams can also be accessed from a web browser if you don’t have the software.
However, if you have a smart phone you can download the Teams app from the App Store or Google Play. It will allow you connect with an adviser using your mobile phone like any other messenger app. This may be preferable if you aren’t near a computer.
Using these measures we hope to provide a continuity of service throughout these difficult times.
Please note, appointments can only be booked by telephone, we cannot book appointments by email.
