Academic considerations for Pre-registration Health and Social Work students
As pre-registration health/social work students your courses are of a professional /vocational nature and your conduct and character are taken into account as well as your academic and practical ability. Representation
If you experience problems on your course then the Student Advice Centre is able to offer advice and representation to students. It is important to contact us as soon as you know there is a problem so that we can assist you in resolving it as quickly as possible.

The British Union of Social Work Employees (BUSWE) is a section of Community. Community is committed to representing workers in the field of social care and in the voluntary sector.
GMB
GMB is a general union - which means that anyone can belong to it. GMB has almost 620,000 members working in every part of the UK economy.
Royal College of Midwives
The RCM is the voice of midwifery, and claim to be the UK's only professional organisation and trade union led by midwives for midwives.
Royal College of Nursing
A membership organsisation offering a wide range of help and advice for both qualified and student nurses including legal representation.
Unison: the public sector services union
UNISON is one of the UK's largest trade unions, serving more than 1.3 million members, representing full-time and part-time staff who provide public services, although they may be employed in both the public and private sectors.
Unite: the union
Unite is one of the leading trade unions in the health sector, with over 100,000 members across all occupations and professional groups.
