Little bit about me

I am currently a masters student studying sociology and social justice.

I am a mum to 3 boys whose ages range from 28 to 16, so I am aware of the struggles young people face.

For the past 3 years I have been a class rep for sociology and have managed the mature parent and carer network.

It is through these roles that I have witnessed and been made aware of issues that affect students and their experiences at Staffs. And I have been able to help students and empower them to make changes and engage with both course content and extracurricular activities.

I am an understanding, approachable person who is passionate about student life and that each individual is entitled to the best experience whilst at university.

As you officer I will:

Fight for more affordable services on campus, from food to laundry fees.

Ensuring that all food outlets have customer friendly prices, with regular promotions.

I will  ensure that ALL food venues, whether university or union run have a childrens menu

Continue current schemes in student engagement and provide more affordable activities for students to engage in their spare time. making sure that any events are affordable and at time where commuter, students with caring responsibilities and students with disabilities can attend. Making all events wholly inclusive with quieter times for more vulnerable students.

Campus wide activities that promote healthy relationships. Highlighting the differences between a healthy/unhealthy relationships.

As there are many issues that students face I promise to have a more visible role on campus and host sessions with students where you will have a chance to speak with your officers about issues you have or just for a chat.
