After being a member of R.A.M.S for the last three years, this is the first time I am running for committee. R.A.M.S is a massive part of my university life, and I want to make R.A.M.S better for YOU!
RAMS has been very much a home away from home for me during my university career and as much as I love the society, there are a few things I would like to implement to help RAMS grow and be the best it can be.
-More DJ nights. The one we had this year was in my opinion one of the best nights we have had so far. I would work with the other elected members of committee to analyse the budget to make sure we have enough to set aside to get DJs in more often so Invasions can feel more like a proper club night allowing the experience to be a much more enjoyable one.
-More themed events, chosen by you the members, so we could have a metal night, an emo night and whatever you guys can think up, I want to make things more tailored to what you guys want to make each night as memorable as the last.
-More days out, things like escape rooms, trips to Alton Towers and many more. Will make sure this is prominent within the committee and we will always be happy to here and accommodate any other plans you guys might have.
-Even though we are a ‘drinking’ society we do have non-drinking members so I want to make nights were there is not pressure to drink, like a monthly movie night in the film theatre with the films chosen by you, the members.
-At the moment we have two nights out in verve a month, without too much pain on your bank accounts, I want to try and organise more trips to club nights all around the local area.
-I want to get our ticket sales on the union website and on the door, so even if we have a charitable event, people can pay without the stress of having to carry cash to our events. This will also make it easier for guests any of our members want to bring along.
-I want to organise more pub crawls at the start of each semester, because even though we have the one in February I’m sure we would all love a warmer pub crawl.
But most of all I want your opinions, I want you to suggest to me and the committee what you guys want, this next year is for you, and I want to be able to help pave the way for you guys to have an amazing year with an amazing society.
