Huw am I?
Hey, I’m Huw, a 3rd-year Games Design & Programming student.
I’m president of Theme Park Society, on the Ultimate Frisbee team, and a Student Ambassador. I’ve volunteered at Welcome Weekend at Stoke and Blackheath Lane, and I was part of the campus flooding action team!
I've loved my 3 years at Staffs and I want to make sure everyone else does, even more than I did! Don’t hesitate to tell me your issues and I’ll fight to sort them.
My main priorities:
Enhanced Digital & Physical Environments:
We’re meant to be a digital university, but our digital spaces are severely lacking quality in areas. These should be properly maintained, and while doing so there also needs to be a large focus on physical environments and sustainability.
Student Group Support:
Student Groups are at the heart of University Life, providing important friendships and much needed time away from course work! More should be done to help committees and make their lives easier, thereby helping them to provide higher quality experiences for the members.
Blackheath Lane/Shrewsbury/Digital Institute of London:
Having volunteered at welcome experiences at Blackheath Lane and seeing what kind of other events were planned, it’s clear that these campuses lack some of the University Experience we get at Stoke. There should be more official events at these locations, and they should be given more opportunity to come to Stoke for events and get involved in Student Groups.
