Hi,
I’m Oskar and I’m running for full time officer for the next academic year!
Some facts about me are that I really love DJing & running events, I collect trainers and I study Cyber Security. I have worked on events in my home city and in Stoke-On-Trent and thanks to Covid-19 all that has been put on hold, until hopefully by September 2021.
As a Student in my third year, I have experienced many nights out and events at LRV, Verve, Ember and in Stoke-on-Trent. Within the entire Stoke area and within our stoke campus there’s a significant feeling of a lack of diversity in the types of nights out available. The same playlists are used and after a while it gets old. I want to help push for better nights out & live events with improvements on all levels including, more student control on who is booked, music, DJS, student safety and wellbeing.
Other points I would like to push and support are:
- An open 24/7campus and facilities
- Push for improved waiting times for students needing to use the mental health services and improved follow-ups to those who have previously used the services.
- Continuing to find a better laundry solution or improving the current situation.
- Bring in a system to help student groups setup their own nights out with ease and speed up, support, and assist planning to streamline event diversity on campus.
- More charity fundraising from events that already happen on campus!
The last year has been incredibly tough for both new and current students and we have all done well to endure the situations that we have all been placed in. I hope that next academic year we will be able to experience better nights and events run by the union! Vote for me!
