Vote for Trebor, he's mint!

Hi all! My name is Robert Craddock, and I am currently a 4th year Psychology and Counselling student. So, why me? Well for the last 4 years I have been involved in the university, I worked with ResLife, been a Student Ambassador and also a trustee for the union. This has provided me with experience about the university and the issues that students face every day.

So, I have the experience but what about me as a person? My three main values are Equality, Fairness and Honesty. I care about people getting the same opportunities, and I believe in being honest with people and finding fair solutions to problems. Overall, I believe you can trust me to represent your views, give you honest feedback and to do the right thing, even if that thing isn’t easy.

So, what do I want to do?

  • Find a way for mature students and others to get timetables much earlier to allow them to organise childcare and jobs along with studies.
  • Lobby the NUS to pressurise the government and its lack of support for students who are currently a cash cow of over a billion pounds for accommodation they are not using.
  • Overhaul the Learner Support Agreement system. Busy staff can’t read the LSA for every single student. A more integrated system with general consideration of disabled students at lecture planning level will help mitigate this.
  • I want to create an events programme that invites students (including graduates) of the pandemic years back to participate in opportunities they have missed such as meeting industry experts, networking opportunities and social occasions with their course peers.
  • Support of One Staffs Café, Buying and selling of old textbooks, PRB adaptation, activity tracker and more!

Thanks for reading, a full manifesto is available on my Facebook page!
