Hello! If you've not met me yet, am currently your Finance Officer, and last year, was the society's Communications Officer. Having lots of experience in the Union, and having also been a part of other clubs and societies in the past, I have lots of experience as to how the Union operates. In addition to this I have worked in the Union venues, and am now going in to my fourth year with Staffordshire University. I will be returning to university next academic year, from my placement year with Cisco Systems, where I have spent the year with the top company in my industry, at their lab in Brussels, expanding my managerial and leadership skills, as I tackle the challenges of living abroad during this pandemic, and orientating from the academic world to the professional world. With such a wide breadth of knowledge and experience navigating the Union's inner-workings, running the society, and aiding it's members, I believe I would allow for The Amateur Dramatics Society to reach it's maximum potential next academic year.
I have lots of ideas for next year: to bring in previous members to run workshops, expanding our Society’s inclusiveness to its alumni, giving you all the confidence to know how well you can do after university, by seeing where the heights your predecessors have reached. As well as this, after the pandemic, it would be great to do a society trip, to a performance, and have an outing as a group. This too would allow everyone to expand their skills as actors and actresses, by seeing a live show. On top of this, I want to launch an initiative to begin investing in members that aren’t as interesting in acting, and would rather work backstage, as a director, or on lighting and sound as a technician, making sure to provide the guidance you need to develop in to your own area.
