I am currently a level 5 LLB Law student and the current communications officer for the Law Society (2020-2021), I have gained an understanding of the running of the society and understand the role of communications officer.
I liaise with students and lecturers with ease and I am extremely passionate for this society. I joined the Law Society when I was on level 4 of my degree and immediately found a community to develop my skills and a family to be a part of. The society has always had a place in my heart and I would love to see it grow further.
With the current pandemic, it has been difficult for the committee to run the society to its full potential. It is my aim to re-build the society into a space which is enjoyable and welcoming to all students, provide some new and exciting opportunities and continue to work on some ongoing projects for the society.
Particularly, I would like to increase employability skills, ensuring that all students finish their degree prepared with the appropriate skills for the workplace and their future careers. I would like to work on public speaking by use of more debates and mooting opportunities. I would love to create a larger community within the society by increasing the number of social events and encourage the family feel which helped me through my first year of university.
Overall, I would like to help develop the Law Society to its full potential and help engage students by getting the most out of their unversity experience.
