Hello, my name is Louisa Gray, and I am running for the position of Communications Officer within the Alternative society. I have had previous experience in helping to run a society, as I was one of the leading members of my sixth forms film society. This role allowed me to develop team building and communication skills, which I feel would make me an ideal candidate for this role.
If I elected, I plan to increase the society’s social activity by holding weekly socials, primarily on the social media platform Discord (particularly whilst we’re still seemingly in the midst of the pandemic), but will hopefully lead to in-person socials. I also plan to increase this society’s marketability by expanding our presence to other online platforms such as Twitter and Instagram, which will potentially allow us to reach out to other students and potential newcomers to our society.
I think that by achieving these goals it will potentially lead us to expand our society and will create a stronger sense of community within it, which I see as highly valuable.
